When we look at the product VGA card on the market today, sometimes we will find several graphics cards with different specifications for one GPU the same. The difference may be derived from the used coolant, memory capacity, and memory type. Especially for the type of memory, variants with different types of memory will generally be found in cheap VGA class. One of the cheapest VGAs that have different variants of this type of memory is the NVIDIA GT 730.

Seeing the potential confusion that is related to the different types of memory is, an idea to discuss in detail about how far the variant of the GT 730 variants on the market today, more precisely that use DDR3 and GDDR5 memory. Does the difference in memory make a significant difference in ability? Or, do both tend to have the same performance? For that, we bring two GT 730, each with 1 GB DDR3 64-bit memory and 1 GB of 64-bit GDDR5. Curious about the "idle" test results? Let's see more about our discussion!

Scope of Testing

Here are the restrictions we use for this test:

- All tests are performed on systems with similar specifications

- We use monitors that have native resolution 1366 x 768

- Both graphics cards are tested with GPU core clock and memory clock equal to the reference version

- We run tests on two different resolutions, namely 1280 × 720 and also 1366 × 768. The graphics quality setting used for both resolutions is the same.

- All the graphics cards we use are the RETAIL versions that we get through the help of Digital Alliance.
The Graphics Cards
NVIDIA GT 730 1GB DDR3 64Bit

GT 730 DDR3 Reference

GT 730 version with 1 GB DDR3 is the cheapest version available on the market. It is not surprising because this graphics card uses the most "basic" specifications for the GT 730 family. The GPU clock used is 902 MHz, with a memory clock of 900 MHz. The DDR3 used has a 64-bit bus width.
NVIDIA GT 730 1GB GDDR5 64Bit

GT 730 1GB DDR5 64Bit Reference

Graphics card GT 730 with 1GB memory GDDR5 64-bit this one has a cursory specification "look better" than we discussed earlier. Its GPU clock is 902 MHz, still in accordance with the reference from NVIDIA. While the memory clock is located at 1253 MHz.

After looking at the specs above, surely you are all curious about his ability. Does the GT 730 GDDR5 that "look better" actually have better capabilities? Or it turns out the GT 730 DDR3 can keep up?
